Perfect fall walking weather in Saratoga Springs! Thank you to POC Lea and all our ESCV friends who joined us for a fun Year Round Walk through beautiful downtown Saratoga Springs. plenty of fun, fitness & friendship!

Thank you to everyone who took part of the ESCV Oktoberfest at Tawasentha Park! Huge thanks to POCs John and Denise for designing a new walk trail, Sue for organizing the delicious food, and Grill Masters Tad and Larry. Great weather, great food, and great friends! 

On Wednesday October 14 join POC Janice for a Traveling Guided Walk in Clifton Knolls at St. Edward’s the Confessor Church. The walk goes though Clifton Park neighborhoods in the quiet Clifton Knolls Development walking along the side of the road.

Thank you to POC Vera for 17 years of hosting the Scotia Year Round  Walk, on Wednesday 9/30. ESCV  friends enjoyed a beautiful fall day exploring the neighborhood, taking in the scenery, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Thank you to POC Tad for hosting the final recreational bike ride of 2026 on Saturday, October 3! ‍♀️ ‍♂️ Riders enjoyed a beautiful ride from Queensbury to Lake George, wrapping up another wonderful season of fun, fitness, friendship, and adventure on two wheels!

Thank you, Tad, for leading the way and helping make our 2026 recreational bike rides such a great success!

Thank you, Louise, for taking us on a beautiful fall walking adventure through historic Bennington, VT, on Sunday, October 4! What a wonderful way to spend a fall  day and great ESCV friends while getting some fun fitness along the way!

Thank you to POCs Leon and Karen for hosting the Saratoga Battlefield walk on Wednesday, September 23, with scenic trails, wooded paths, and historic sites along the way, it was a wonderful place to combine walking, history, and good friends!

What a spectacular early-autumn day in historic Cherry Valley! Thank you to Teresa and Marjorie for hosting Saturday’s walk on September 26. We explored the charming village of Cherry Valley, known for its rich history and historic sites. Though the village is small, its biannual Kite Festival draws many people for a fun-filled day!

Join POC Vera on Wednesday, September 30, for a walk through Scotia! Come explore this charming village and discover a little of Scotia’s history along the way. Enjoy a fun day of fitness, friendship, and exploring with fellow ESCV walkers. We hope to see you there!

Join POC Tad on Saturday, October 3, for the final recreational bike ride of 2026 from Queensbury to Lake George. This out-and-back ride heads north to the south end of Lake George, then follows the shoreline through town. We’re hoping to see some fall color in the leaves this year! Come enjoy a fun day of fitness, friendship, and scenic riding with fellow ESCV cyclists.

On Sunday, October 4th, join POC Louise for a walk-in historic Bennington, VT. Enjoy the charm of Old Bennington while learning a little history, including the 1777 Battle of Bennington.  We’ll also enjoy the beautiful fall scenery. Come out for history, fun, fitness and friendship!

thank you to POC Debbie for hosting us on Wednesday, September 16, for a fun Seasonal Walk in beautiful Lake George. We enjoyed beautiful lake views, and the sights and scenery of Lake George, good walking, good friends, and plenty of fun, fitness & friendship. 

Thank you to POC Eileen and assistant Father Jack for Saturday September 19th Year Round Clifton Park walk. Lovely sunny morning walking and talking with friends. 

A big thank you to POCs Barbara, Irene & Sophia for Traveling Guided Walk in Downtown Albany on Sunday, September 20. We enjoyed the Albany Skyway, Vietnam Memorial, Academy Park, and a stroll through the Empire State Plaza—Another fun ESCV adventure in the books! 

Join POC Leon on Wednesday, September 23, for a walk through history at Saratoga National Historical Park! Choose the Wilkerson Trail or Battlefield Road and explore the rolling Saratoga countryside while discovering the story of a turning point in the American Revolution. Come enjoy some fresh air, history, beautiful scenery, and good ESCV company! 

Join POC Teresa on Saturday, September 26, for a walk through the small historic village of Cherry Valley, known as the “Gateway to the American Frontier” in the late 1700s.

Along with a scenic walk and fascinating history, the popular Cherry Valley Kite Festival will be taking place, featuring colorful kites, food vendors, kite-making workshops, and even a pancake breakfast starting at 9:00 a.m. at the firehouse! 

Come enjoy a fun-filled day of history, fresh air, good food, and great company with your ESCV friends.

Thank you to POC Larry for hosting the Year Round Walk at Saratoga Spa Park on Wednesday, September 9. A beautiful setting, got some steps in, and spend a fun morning walking and catching up with friends! 

Thank you to POCs Liz and Brian for hosting the Cohoes Tugboat Festival Walk on Saturday, September 12. A fun day exploring the festival, celebrating the waterways, and enjoying a walk with friends. 

We have three upcoming walks to look forward to starting on Wednesday, September 16, in Lake George with POC Debbie. We’ll walk through the charming village of Lake George and along Beach Road, which runs parallel to the lake, passing Adirondack gift shops, monuments, and more. Come walk with us!

Join POC Eileen on Saturday, September 19, for a year-round walk through Clifton Park Town Center Park, the Shenendehowa School Campus, and nearby neighborhoods. On the 6K and 10K routes, you’ll pass the Carillon Bell Tower. Come enjoy a fun day walking with friends and exploring Clifton Park!

On Sunday September 20 join POCs Barbara, Sophie & Irene, for a walk in Albany. The walk features the Skyway Path, Academy Park, the Capitol Building, the Vietnam Memorial, Empire State Plaza, and a pedestrian bridge. Come enjoy a fun day exploring Albany, walking with friends, and taking in some of the city’s highlights.

Weekly Update

Thank you to everyone who attended the Northville walk on Wednesday 8/26, It was a wonderful way to end another great season of Wednesday walks! 

What a wonderful day in Boston!

On Saturday, August 29, ESCV chartered a bus to Boston to join the Walk’N Mass club in celebrating the AVA’s 50th Anniversary and America’s 250th Anniversary. We enjoyed a beautiful day for a 6K, 7K, or 11K walk through Boston-Castle Island, an area that was unfamiliar to many of us. It was a great opportunity to explore a new part of Boston while celebrating two very special anniversaries.

A special thank you to Chris Yost for arranging the bus trip and coordinating everything so well. We truly appreciate all the time and effort that went into making this such a fun and memorable day for everyone!

Thank POC Kathy M. for hosting the Altamont Fair Walk on Wednesday 8/19 with sign in help from Toni, Chuck, and Gail. A fun day at the fair. 

Seasoned ESCV bike riders had a wonderful bike ride Saturday at the Saratoga Historic Battlefield and National Cemetery. The ride was 18 miles, a bit short for this august group but the various hills made up for that. Of the 12 riders which included one from Meetup and one from Westchester downstate. One rider stayed for the weekend and attended the free music at Freedom Park and enjoyed the drone show after the music. A lovely weekend to say the least!  Our final ride of this season will be from Queensbury to Lake George on Saturday, October 3rd.

Join POC Louise R. on Wednesday, August 26, for the last Wednesday Walk of the 2026 season in Northville. 

Bring your lunch and a lawn chair and enjoy the park-like atmosphere. 

Around 11:30 AM, we’ll gather for a meeting to set the 2027 Wednesday Walk schedule.

Thank you to POC Brenda for hosting Wednesday’s walk on August 12th in Saratoga East Side! It was a beautiful, sunny morning for a stroll through the neighborhoods of Saratoga and the Saratoga Race Track  where we got to watch the horses during their morning workouts. A great combination of walking, scenery, and a little Saratoga racing action! 

thank you to POC Sue for hosting a wonderful seasonal walk on Sunday, August 16th  in Williamstown, MA! It was a special afternoon with warm sunshine and a gentle breeze—perfect for enjoying the beautiful scenery and, the great sense of community and company along the way.

On Wednesday, August 19th, we’re heading to the Altamont Fair with POC Kathy! We look forward to a lively day at the fair—it promises to be a fun-filled outing and maybe some strawberry shortcake! 

Tad will be hosting our Saratoga Battlefield Bike Ride on Saturday August 22nd. The ride will follow the park loop road, stopping at a few of the historic sites along the way. Once exiting the park the route continues along the Hudson River and then on to the National Cemetery.

Thank you to Teresa for hosting our Wednesday Walk on August 5th in Old Niskayuna! It was a lovely walk through the shady, tree-lined streets, passing classic homes and beautiful gardens along the way —pretty much perfect walking weather!

A big thank-you to our POC, Tad Darling, for planning and leading the Erie Canal Pattersonville Bike ride on Saturday 8august 8th and making sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable outing. With the questionable weather we decided to play it safe and cut the ride short after touring the Amsterdam Walking Bridge new addition running along the south shore of the Mohawk River. 

Join POC Brenda Streed for a Wednesday Walk – Saratoga East Side on August 12th. Enjoy the sights and history of the Saratoga Race Course, A great way to spend a summer Wednesday—come walk with us!
